Television technology has changed remarkably over recent years. Consider that in 2008, CRT technology virtually disappeared. It was replaced with the new and much improved LCD technology like that on the Toshiba Regza 32RV635DB.

All of the latest releases from TV manufacturers, such as the 32RV635DB are HD capable and either have LCD or plasma screens. This is a 3 pin version for the UK of the Toshiba 32RV635 with a LCD screen. The 32RV 635DB and the 32RV635 are identical with the exception of the UK plug.

The 32RV635DB sports an impressive 32 inch wide screen display that produces the best images for a distance of eight to ten feet from the set. Unlike many other models, this TV has a cabinet design that helps it become one with your room and home, not just another piece of electronics that sticks out like a sore thumb.

This TV is ideal when handling standard or high definition images. However, some high end game applications may not be best suited.

If you’re looking to be environmentally conscious, the Toshiba Regza 32RV635DB is the set for you. Looking to make your carbon footprint  smaller? You’ve found the right TV. When you look at the left panel in the back of the TV, you’ll see the hard disconnect switch. This reduces your typical standby electric usage from about 3 watts per hour to under 1 watt per hour. This is quite impressive when you’re trying to help out Mother Earth.

Toshiba upgraded the user controls considerably for the Toshiba 32RV635DB. The GUI (graphic user interface) has completely changed. Their menu screens are much more user friendly and the icons and fonts are easy to read. Unlike many other menus, you won’t be squinting and trying to focus to figure out what you’re doing on the menu. The colours are sharp and crisp and make the options easy to read.

The remote makes changes to the 32RV635DB simple, including the aspect ratio options, which may need to be changed depending on the programmeme you’re watching.

Upon technical testing, some issues did pop up. There were several overdrive errors that came up and some colour smudging. What this means to you is that if you are the typical TV watcher who plans on watching TV shows and movies on a regular basis, the 32RV635DB could be the set for you. If you’re looking to play 60p computer games, you may be disappointed by the graphics on this TV.

The 32RV635DB has an above average range of viewing from most angles. The very acute angles show some shifting of colours, but this is to be expected of pretty much any TV these days. There is a 1 to 1 pixel mapping with this model, providing incredibly sharp images.

Keep in mind, the 32RV635DB is not one of the higher end HD models available. However, it has shown serious promise for those who are looking for a low priced HDTV to use for viewing purposes for your family. This set did better than anything else in this price range and the aspect ratio is key.

You will have to tweak the settings a bit to achieve the perfect colour and image quality, but it is possible to achieve. You’ll be thrilled with the crispness of the images that the 32RV635DB produces.

You’re not likely to regret going for the Toshiba Regza 32RV635DB.
